Letting a real person through

“Have you ever retired a human by mistake?”

The bot check is a good guess, not a certainty, and it is built to be easy to overrule. The moment any one of four things happens, a person is through: out of Checkout bots, and reachable by your marketing again, as their consent allows.

When you recognize somebody the app is holding back, open their profile and choose This is a person on its Person row. From then on the bot check never treats them as a bot, and the profile shows who confirmed it and when.

The Person row appears on the profiles where it is a real question: everybody held as a checkout bot, everybody in Suspected bots, and anybody already confirmed, so the name of whoever vouched for them never disappears.

Owners, managers and marketers can set the mark, and take it back with Not a person after all. A viewer sees the row on a held or confirmed profile, but not the menu. Nobody at Carpe Messaging can set it for you: it is your word about your own customer.

Taking the mark off puts somebody back in Checkout bots if nothing else lets them through.

A person is also let through, with nothing for you to do, the moment your store shows one of three things: they place an order, they get any Shopify tag, or your storefront sees them browsing your store before a checkout. Each is something a bot rarely does.

Letting somebody through never touches their consent. They get your marketing only if they gave consent, and anybody who unsubscribed stays unsubscribed. It does not send what they missed while they were held either.

What it does change is the hold: from that moment, the next campaign or automation message reaches them like anybody else’s. For a sign-up automation the bot check turned them away from, it means the check never turns them away again, though the welcome they missed is not sent; their consent is already on, and people already subscribed are not welcomed again.
